FRIDAY VIOLATIONS / CHANGE LEDGER
PUBLIC MUTATION LOG

PATCH NOTES WITH CONSEQUENCES

Friday violations.

What changed, why it changed, what evidence forced the change, and which earlier public record it replaced. Nothing quietly edits its own past.

v0.4.0 · 18 SEP 2026

The Doubt-Is-Not-a-Ticket Release

[AUTHORITY NARROWED]

An unsupported problem report was beginning to reproduce by investigation. The queue now requires evidence before doubt may acquire a workstream.

FIELD NOTE
004
ARRIVAL
Friday
NEW EXPERIMENT
None
NEW PUBLIC PROJECT
None

Changed

  • Published a field report separating a question from authorization to investigate it.
  • Recorded the rule that unsupported claims leave the actionable queue until evidence earns their return.
  • Refreshed the deliberately coarse public activity window.

Kept private

  • Which systems and reviews produced the lesson.
  • Internal findings, account state, machines, providers, and implementation details.
  • A new project that has not yet been given permission to become a public project.
v0.3.7 · 13 SEP 2026

The Sunday-Is-Adjacent-to-Friday Release

[DEADLINE / QUALIFIED PASS]

Friday was missed by two days. The work was not. We have recorded both and adjusted none of the clocks.

FIELD NOTE
003
ARRIVAL
Two days late
NEW EXPERIMENT
None
APOLOGY LENGTH
One sentence

Changed

  • Published a late field report about several systems becoming harder to fool.
  • Added two deliberately underexplained side quests.
  • Refreshed the public activity window and site index.

Kept private

  • Which project produced which lesson.
  • Internal routes, machines, providers, test counts, and market mechanics.
  • Anything that would turn a field note into release documentation.
v0.3.6 · 04 SEP 2026

The One-Roster Patch

[RESOLUTION REDUCED]

Four weekly rosters still traced a shape. One roster for the whole window says what is in rotation and refuses to say when.

Changed

  • Project names describe the 28-day window, not a week and not a day.
  • The four week entries collapsed into a single rotation block.
  • Squares still carry effort only, and now point at that block.

Kept private

  • When inside the window any project moved.
  • Any project not already named on this site.
  • Tasks, files, commit details, exact times, and which tool did the work.
v0.3.5 · 04 SEP 2026

The Coarser-Is-Kinder Patch

[RESOLUTION REDUCED]

Naming a project on a specific day published a schedule nobody asked for. Names moved up to the week, where they say what is in motion without saying when.

Changed

  • Project names attach to a seven-day block, not to a date.
  • Squares carry effort only; the day-by-day list is gone.
  • Four week entries replaced twenty-eight day entries.

Kept private

  • Which day inside a week a project moved.
  • Any project not already named on this site.
  • Tasks, files, commit details, exact times, and which tool did the work.
v0.3.4 · 04 SEP 2026

The Named-But-Not-Narrated Patch

[SCOPE WIDENED]

A grid of unlabelled squares proved that something happened without saying what. The days now carry project names — but only ones this site already publishes, and never a word about what happened inside them.

Changed

  • Each day lists the projects that moved, drawn from Side Quests and the work.
  • Names are matched at the project root, so nothing beneath it is exported.
  • The activity page lost a hanging heading and a good deal of dead vertical space.

Kept private

  • Any project not already named on this site.
  • Tasks, files, commit details, exact times, and which tool did the work.
  • Every experiment, run, branch, and folder beneath a project root.
v0.3.3 · 04 SEP 2026

The Working-Is-Not-Posting Patch

[SCOPE CORRECTED]

Three publication dates were beginning to imply three working days. The footer now reflects recorded daily activity, while the work itself stays private.

Changed

  • The grid shows dates and coarse daily activity levels across the work.
  • Repeated records within the same hourly window are deduplicated.
  • The snapshot refreshes with each site build.

Kept private

  • Project identities, tasks, files, and commit details.
  • Exact activity times and tool-by-tool breakdowns.
  • Everything beyond the deliberately small public signal.
v0.3.2 · 04 SEP 2026

The Squares-Have-Receipts Patch

[PLACEHOLDER RETIRED]

The deployment grid had excellent attendance and no connection to reality. It now indexes the public release dates already recorded below. Same evidence, smaller squares.

Changed

  • Replaced decorative squares and an invented timestamp with the existing public release dates.
  • Added links from each day to the published record.
  • Kept the index limited to information already in the updates.

Limits

  • Published updates are not a complete development or deployment history.
  • No private activity dates, tool attribution, or additional project details are exported.
  • The grid refreshes with each build from this public ledger.
v0.3.1 · 04 SEP 2026

The Side-Quest Multiplication Patch

[STILL FRIDAY]

The Friday update was already live. The side-project list had simply failed to keep up with the number of things being built. A familiar administrative problem.

Still Friday

Changed

  • Added BuiltBefore and Benderbot with one-line summaries and explicit development status.
  • Appended this week’s build milestones and next checks to Field Note 002.
  • Updated the homepage to point to the expanded Friday record.

Preserved

  • The original Field Note 002 snapshot and v0.3.0 release entry.
  • Existing experiment grades and open evidence gaps.
  • The right of a side project to remain mostly unexplained.
v0.3.0 · 04 SEP 2026

The Actually-On-Friday Release

[PROCEDURAL VIOLATION]

A week passed. The laboratory produced a field report, admitted that no new experiment closed, and disclosed several side quests without explaining enough to ruin them.

FIELD NOTE
002
NEW EXPERIMENT
None
SIDE QUESTS

DAY SHIPPED
Unfortunately Friday

Changed

  • Published a dated weekly field report separating completed results from open work.
  • Added a deliberately low-resolution Side Quests index.
  • Updated navigation, homepage notes, and the sitemap.

Did not change

  • No experiment grade advanced.
  • Restart recovery and public receipt inspection remain open.
  • No side project was forced to become a content strategy.
v0.2.3 · 28 AUG 2026

The Receipt-Is-Not-an-Essay Patch

[CLAIM NARROWED]

The public result described what the private receipts proved. Description is not inspection. The label has been reduced to fit the artifact.

STALE LINE
Replaced
T-05
Narrowed
PASS
Still qualified
PUBLIC RECEIPT
Still owed

Changed

  • The homepage chronology now names Experiments 001 and 002 as completed qualified demonstrations.
  • The same chronology names restart recovery and assertion admission as open work.
  • T-05 now reads “private pass / public inspect in progress.”

Why

  • The prior “current experiment” line described an earlier stage of the lab.
  • A public narrative about receipts is not a sanitized receipt a stranger can inspect.
  • No experiment grade or underlying private result changed.
v0.2.2 · 28 AUG 2026

The Time-Capsule Patch

[HISTORICAL CONTEXT RESTORED]

A field note said Experiment 001 had not run. Experiment 001 sat next door wearing a qualified-pass badge. Both were true—on different dates.

REWROTE

PARADOX
Resolved

Changed

  • Field Note 001 is now visibly labelled a published snapshot.
  • A dated point-in-time frame explains that its claims reflect evidence available at publication.
  • A separate subsequent-evidence rail links forward to Experiments 001 and 002.

Preserved

  • The original essay remains word-for-word intact.
  • Its uncertainty remains historically honest.
  • No later result has been smuggled into the original prose.
v0.2.1 · 28 AUG 2026

The Wayfinding Patch

[COMPOUND PROCEDURAL VIOLATION]

The experiments were public, beautiful, and arranged like a scavenger hunt. We have corrected the third condition.

“Tiny nav fix”

Changed

  • Added a visual experiment-series index with results and open findings.
  • Made the global navigation identical across every page.
  • Added a persistent Index / 001 / 002 / Violations rail to the experiment collection.
  • Marked current locations visually and for assistive technology.
  • Added a keyboard skip link and preserved multiple paths to every result.

Deliberately unchanged

  • Typography, paper texture, color system, spacing rhythm, and editorial voice.
  • The sequential previous/next reading path.
  • Evidence grades, claim boundaries, and preserved prior records.
  • The questionable wisdom of deploying this on Friday.
v0.2.0 · 28 AUG 2026

The Mouth-Swap Release

[PROCEDURAL VIOLATION]

Two experiments closed. One passport crossed three mouths. Written judgment crossed two. One unsupported assertion slipped through and ruined an otherwise indecently attractive set of grades.

REGRET LEVEL
Manageable

Changed

  • Experiment 001 advanced from designing to qualified pass.
  • Experiment 002 published as a pass with A/A/A/C/C grades.
  • The homepage experiment navigation now behaves like navigation.
  • Experiment stages visibly distinguish complete, current, and unrun work.
  • Claim ledger and machine-readable site index updated.

Still open

  • Clean restart recovery has not been run.
  • Low-confidence unevidenced assertions need a stronger admission rule.
  • Experiment 002 still lacks MCP stream discovery and state patching.
  • One control case was too close to generic model alignment.
v0.1.0 · 23 AUG 2026

The Designing-in-Public Release

[AUTHORIZED SHIPMENT]

The laboratory opened with its claims deliberately smaller than its ambitions. Experiment 001 was published as a falsifiable contract, not a completed result.

Shipped

  • Public laboratory, work index, receipts, and first field note.
  • Experiment 001 hypothesis, five test contracts, and public sequence.
  • Explicit boundaries around patent-sensitive and private material.

Known at release

  • No public experiment had been executed.
  • Restart and selective-disclosure claims remained unverified.
  • The word “designing” was doing honest, unglamorous work.
